What Should A Father Provide?

Research has shown that there are several things that a father provides for his daughter which make a difference in her life. When asked what they felt they felt these things were, 85 daughters said that fathers should provide financial support and 92 said they should provide meaningful conversation. Eighty-two women said that fathers should provide correction for their daughters and 82 said that his physical presence was important. Other responses given were love (8), role model (3), protection (2), spiritual direction/guidance (4) and 1 daughter felt that affection for the mother is also important. It is here that the participants revealed that they agreed that fatherhood is important to daughters. It may be inferred that when these qualities and amenities are absent as a result of paternal absenteeism, there is something that goes missing from the life of a daughter.
