Are Daughters Affected Negatively?
When asked their opinion of whether daughters are affected negatively by the absence of their fathers, 76% (78) of the daughters who responded said believed so. Approximately 4% (4) said “no” while 19% (20) said that maybe girls are affected negatively. There was 1 daughter who accounted for the remaining 1% of the participants who said that she did not know whether daughters might be affected by the absence of their fathers. Once again, it may be deduced that most of the women in the survey believed that paternal absenteeism affects daughters negatively. This fact adds merit to the thesis of this study by confirming that the effects of this social ill on daughters can be negative.
